Metal burr formation is inevitable in machines where milling, grinding and drilling operations are performed. Due to the working principles of inductive sensors, this type of burrs and chips creates uncertainties and difficulties in detecting. These uncertainties can cause false or distorted signals to be passed to control systems.
The sensor manufacturer Contrinex has developed a series of M12, M18 and M30 body diameters for such applications, so as not to detect metal burrs accumulated on the sensor.

Even if the sensor sensing surface is covered with iron, aluminum, stainless steel, brass, copper or titanium burrs, only the metal object at the target will be detected correctly.
IMMUNITY AGAINST IRON, ALUMINUM, STAINLESS STEEL, BRASS, COPPER and TITANIUM BURNERS
This series has also been developed for extra conditions and it is produced in one piece stainless steel body, IP68 and IP69K protection class, operating temperature range -25… + 85 ° C. These features provide privilege in the adaptation of the inductive sensor to the harsh conditions of the machine environment. In the versions with PNP output, I/O LINK feature, which is required within the scope of Industry 4.0, provides communication and parameterization with sensors, is standard.
It provides cost, maintenance and time saving advantages with its long lifetimes and working stability in the machine environment. In metal machining machines or working environments, there is no need to remove metal burrs accumulated on the sensor for stable operation of the sensor as in standard sensors.
