Automation systems are increasingly designed to be used outdoors or in remote stations that are difficult to access. This exposes automation systems to harsh climatic conditions and temperatures. Wind turbines, railway stations, transformer lodges, switchyards, power plants, cement plants, iron and steel industry, process, onshore / offshore platforms are the regions where many climatic conditions from temperature to concentration occur. Standard automation systems cannot be used in these systems. The WAGO 750 XTR series offers special solutions for extrem conditions. So let’s look for the answer to why you should use XTR in your automation systems.
1 – HIGH and LOW TEMPERATURE
Devices in the field are expected to have the same operating performance at high or low temperatures, depending on regional conditions. The selected products must have the features that can operate 24/7 under these conditions. For example, a PLC system operating in an IP66 / IP67 panel outdoors will be exposed to high temperature. WAGO 750 XTR shows smooth performance up to 70 degrees.
2 – VIBRATION
Controllers used for construction equipment, tunnel construction, subway and similar transportation systems, control systems of machines operating with high vibration are subject to high vibration continuously or at certain intervals. This prevents vibration automation systems from working properly. For example, suppose you would control the control of a tunnel drilling machine. Intense vibration to occur here prevents PLCs from working properly. XTR withstands vibration up to 5g. So your automation systems work properly even in the harshest vibration environments.
3 – Condensate and Relative Humidity
The materials planned to be used in panels manufactured for IP 66 and IP 67 systems result in high temperature and humidity due to the inability to use a cooling structure inside. Due to the moisture formed, high condensation will occur inside the panel. It damages the equipment used in condensation automation systems. WAGO 750 XTR is not affected by humidity and condensation up to 70 degrees.
4 – HIGH IMPACT TENSIONS and EMC
Problems that may arise from EMC disrupt the signals in the automation system. It prevents reliable and healthy operation of the system. If there is no isolation or protection of the system against sudden impacts on the field, the system carries the risk of collapse completely. WAGO 750 XTR is resistant to impact voltages up to 5 kV. It is not affected by EMC with its high EMC resistance.
5 – HIGH ALTITUDE
High altitude and changing climate conditions affect automation systems. WAGO XTR shows flawless performance up to 5000 meters.
6 – OPTIMUM COMMUNICATION FOR REMOTE MAINTENANCE AND TELECONTROL APPLICATIONS
750 XTR can be programmed in Codesys environment according to IEC 61131-3. Supports CANopen, PROFIBUS DP and Modbus-TCP / -UPD / -RTU protocols. In addition, telecontrols support the IEC 60870-5-101, -103, -104, 61400-25 and 61850-7 protocols. In case of a disconnection in the WAGO 750 XTR, all relevant data is stored and sent to the next process for the control system.
